Learn Russian in the City of Inspiration

About the course

The best way to study a foreign language is to visit a country where it is spoken. Latvia has historical connections with Russia for a very long time. About 32% of Latvian people have Russian as their mother tongue and Russian is often used in society. We use the most up-to-date teaching materials published in Russia. Therefore, the City of Riga with its inspiring atmosphere and the Public Service Language Centre offers the best solution to learn Russian to our students.

The Russian Language course is a monthly one week event run by the Public Service Language Centre (PSLC) during spring, autumn and winter seasons. There are semi-intensive (4 lessons a day) and intensive courses (6 lessons a day). The course is set up to be compact and caters for good results for our students.  The difference between two courses is in the study hours. The programme also includes cultural part in the Old Town of Riga.

The PSLC will organize two week+ studies of the Russian during the summer season (from May to August), which will be divided into two parts. The first part is going to take place in Riga, Latvia (The City of Inspiration) and the second part will be the guided tour to St. Petersburg, Russia (The Northern Capital of Russia).

The students are free in their choice after the St. Petersburg tour: to stay there longer, arrange trip home from the St. Petersburg or return back to Riga by our bus.

Þ      The students of Russian;

Þ      People whose business is done in the Russian language.

The course programme is aimed at those who want to learn and/or improve the fundamental knowledge of Russian. The goal is to help students achieve sufficient knowledge of Russian and be able to communicate in different situations as well as study grammar and vocabulary, read, discuss and retell simple texts and topics.
